VNS – Inventory Management System
Project Brief
VNS Inventory is a web-based system designed to manage raw and finished goods across multiple departments and categories. It allows users to track stock levels, restock inventory, manage returns, and monitor employee activity in real time. As a Web Developer, I developed the interactive dashboard using Next, TypeScript, and Material UI, ensuring smooth navigation, data visualization, and efficient stock monitoring with barcode-based search and user role management.

Challenge & The Solution
The client’s existing system relied heavily on manual stock tracking, resulting in frequent human errors, delayed reporting, and lack of transparency between departments. We built a comprehensive web-based inventory management platform with role-based access and automated tracking features. The dashboard provides an instant overview of low-stock items, department performance, and category-level summaries. We also implemented efficient database management for real-time updates and designed an intuitive user interface that simplified navigation and data management.
Roadblocks
During development, one of the main challenges was handling dynamic stock updates in real time while maintaining data accuracy across different inventory types (raw and finished goods). Additionally, designing a scalable architecture that could support future integrations, such as barcode scanning and automated restocking, required careful planning and optimization.
